Official description
The constellation of watchmaking and jewelry arts has been enhanced by this unique Piaget composition, masterfully combining the two forms of expertise in its cushion-cut Emperador Tourbillon automatic Skeletonized Diamond-Set Exceptional Piece. Defying the laws of possibility, the Manufacture presents an exceptional movement set with baguette-cut diamonds, in an ultra-thin, cushion-cut composition no more than 6 mm deep and adorned with a prestigious flying tourbillon. 71 baguette-cut diamonds form a glittering 8 around the rings on the fringe of the flying tourbillon cage and the platinum oscillating weight, whose surface is also entirely gem-set. Driving back the limits of daring ever further, Piaget has also set both sides of each of these working elements of the movement in gold. The baguette-cut diamonds are echoed by the 561 round-cut diamonds, showcasing three different setting techniques: channel setting for the baguette-cut diamonds, bead setting for the tops of the bridges and advanced bead setting for the flanks. Demonstrating its virtuosity, Piaget has even gem-set the profiles of the bridges and certain screws in the 1270D movement. 794 diamonds glitter in magical brilliance across the bezel, the middle, relax and the crown, while 24 baguette-cut diamonds grace the buckle of the bracelet. True to its motto "Always do better than necessary", Piaget has enhanced this exclusive mechanism with finishing created entirely with a file, in accord with its ultimate "image" level of finishing.
