Piaget Announces its new Polo Ambassadors for the 2014 Argentinean Season
This Thursday, September 25th, at the Etiqueta Negra flagship store located at Dardo Rocha 1366 in Buenos Aires, Piaget will strengthen its ties even more with Polo introducing its sports ambassadors; the four members of the Ellerstina Piaget Polo team; six-time champions of the Argentine Polo Open: brothers Facundo Pieres, Gonzalo Pieres (h) and Nicolas Pieres, together with Mariano Aguerre.
For their third consecutive season, the foursome will take part in the Argentine Triple Crown; made up of the Tortugas, Hurlingham and Palermo Open Championships; tournaments which have already been won by Ellerstina multiple times.
The Palermo Open Championship, the most important of the world, was first won by the General Rodriguez team in 1994, in 1997 and in 1998. During these three occasions, Gonzalo Pieres, father of three of the current players of Ellerstina, integrated the team.
The team obtained these same victories in 2008, 2010 and 2012, but now with Facundo and Gonzalo Pieres (son) being part of it; while the youngest member of the family became part of the team during the last victory year. In addition, the four polo players have also obtained hundreds of trophies all around the world, including the US, British and Spanish polo seasons, among many others.
Piaget and Ellerstina are very similar; they work in teams, and have the same motto “always do better than necessary”. Both have extraordinary skill and dedication, and like Piaget in the watch industry, the Pieres family is involved in all aspects of the game. Everything must fit perfectly, from the breeding and training of horses to the matches themselves; forcing everything to work like clockwork. The Ellerstina Piaget team is recognized globally as winners of this great sport, for their passion in all aspects of the game and the perpetual quest for perfection.
The four team members of Ellerstina Piaget wear the Polo FortyFive, reference G0A37004. It has a black dial with black superluminova indexes and blue minute markers. This timepiece has a 880P Manufacture Piaget movement, flyback chronograph, second time zone, date, and is an ultra-thin self-winding mechanical movement.
